In addition, email users can subscribe to mailing lists by sending commands to the Majordomo server through email messages. Both methods are described below: ----------------------------------------------- <b>Adding members with the panel:</b> 1: Click "Mailinglists" int he left menu. - The Mailing Lists form opens, showing the current mailing lists on the domain. 2: Locate the mailing list to which you want to add members and in the Actions column, click the "Member Management" icon. The Member Management form opens. 3: In the text box, enter the email addresses of the users you want to add to the list, separating each address with commas. 4: Click Subscribe. Majordomo sends an introductory message to each new member on the list, and also sends an email message to the List Maintainer informing the administrator that a new member is added to the list. ----------------------------------------------- <b>Adding members with emails:</b> One of the benefits of using Majordomo to manage mailing lists is the ability to send commands to the Majordomo server. These commands make it possible to automate tasks such as adding or removing members to the list and getting information about the list. You send majordomo commands to the following address: majordomo@<site name.com> where <site_name.com> is the name of your domain. In the body of the email message, you can include one or more of the commands listed below. <b>subscribe <mailing list name> <email address></b> - Add the user at the email address you specify to the mailing list you specify <b>Unsubscribe <mailing list name></b> - Remove yourself from the mailing list you specify <b>signoff <mailing list name></b> - Remove yourself from the mailing list you specify Note: The email message must include only commands in the body of the email message; it can contain no other text. -----------------------------------------------</content> <author>EchoEcho Support</author> <date>12.07.2009, 21:03</date> </article> </phpmyfaq> |
