There are several ways to go about this. All fall under the heading of FTP (File Transfer Protocol). What is FTP? Quite simply File Transfer Protocol is the protocol used on the Internet for exchanging files. It's simply a method to transfer files between computers. There's really no need to know more than this. How do I use FTP? To transfer files, you can use one of these: 1) FTP program, 2) cPanel's File Manager, 3) Web publishing programs such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver 1) FTP program We prefer FileZilla for transferring files, because it is easier to use. If you don't have complex needs you might want to check out one of the other free FTP programs out there. 2) cPanel's File Manager You can also transfer files using the "FILE MANAGER" in cPanel. The cPanel has lots of other features that are explained in more detail on the following pages. 3) Web publishing programs To transfer files using Frontpage or Dreamweaver, make sure to use the correct address: ftp://username.echoechoplus.com What is my login info? If you don't have a domain hosted with us: ----------------- FTP host address: username.echoechoplus.com Username: username@username.echoechoplus.com Password: The password for your account. Port: 21 ----------------- Note: Replace username with your real username. If the above doesn't work it may be that your FTP program doesn't allow @ in usernames. Try username#username.echoechoplus.com instead. ----------------- If you have a domain hosted with us: ----------------- FTP host address: ftp.yourdomain.com Username: username@yourdomain.com Password: The password for your account. Port: 21 ----------------- Again, if the above doesn't work it may be that you FTP program doesn't allow @ in usernames. Try username#username.echoechoplus.com instead. Where do I upload files to? You should upload your files and images to the "public_html" folder. Reserved folder names These folder names are reserved by your site's control panel and can't be used for folders that you upload to the site: /icons/ , /sqmail/ , /webmail/ , /squirrelmail/
Next page: Webmail

<date>19.09.2012, 08:24</date>
</phpmyfaq> |
